COACHING BUILT AROUND YOUR GAME

We do not start with the same programme for everyone.

We first look at the goalkeeper's own goals, strengths and areas for development.

Training content evolves based on what we see on the pitch and what the goalkeeper personally wants to improve.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Who is GATO Academy for?

GATO Academy suits goalkeepers who want goal-driven, individual training alongside their club programme — or in situations where regular goalkeeper coaching is not otherwise available.

Training is always built around the goalkeeper's current level and goals.

What age groups is GATO Academy for?

GATO Academy is suitable for goalkeepers of all ages – from young beginners to adults and more experienced players.

The content, intensity and goals of the coaching are always adapted to the goalkeeper's age, level and individual needs.

Where do the sessions take place?

Sessions take place in the South Helsinki area.

The exact pitch is agreed case by case, depending on the training time and pitch availability.

When are the sessions held?

Training times are agreed flexibly around the goalkeeper's and the coach's schedules.

The aim is to find a rhythm that fits around club training, matches, school and everyday life.

Do we have to train every week?

Regular training produces the best results, so the aim is usually at least one session per week.

The package is not tied to a rigid weekly rhythm, though — the schedule can be adapted as needed.

Can we focus on just one area?

Yes.

If, for example, 1v1 situations, crosses or distribution is a clear development area, the training can be weighted towards exactly that.

The goalkeeper's own view of what they want to improve is an important part of planning the training.

How does the 10-session package work?

The package includes ten individual goalkeeper training sessions.

The schedule and content are agreed around the goalkeeper's situation, and the package does not have to be completed within a rigid ten-week window.

Who is the coach?

Coaching is led by GATO founder Aleksi Partanen, a former professional goalkeeper.

Aleksi represented Finland at U15, U16, U18 and U19 youth international level, making eight appearances in total.
