GATO goalkeeper glove in the net

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything keepers ask before their first GATO order.

Should I choose Match or Training gloves?

GATO gloves are built around a simple Match + Training system: use Match gloves for games and Training gloves for training.

The fit, cut and overall construction are the same. The only difference is the latex. Both use German professional-level latex, but they are optimized for different purposes. Match Latex prioritizes maximum grip for games, while Training Latex is designed to offer greater durability for regular training while still providing excellent grip.

You no longer need to buy two overpriced pairs and rotate them between games and training, or buy an expensive pair for games and a cheaper pair for training where performance suffers. Training makes up the majority of football, so why should your training equipment be any worse? The idea behind GATO is to give you professional level performance for both games and training without making your wallet cry.

How do I choose the right size?

GATO 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0 Junior: choose one size larger than your usual goalkeeper glove size.

GATO Classic Match and Classic Training: use the measurement guide in our Size Guide to find your size. If you're unsure, send us a message and we'll help you choose.

Products must be unused. For glove returns and exchanges, the protective film on the latex must remain fully intact.

Contact us before returning anything so we can send you the correct instructions.

Can I try the gloves on before deciding?

Yes. You can try the gloves on indoors to check the fit.

Do not remove the protective film or use the gloves. If the size isn't right, the size exchange is free.

Can I use GATO gloves on artificial grass and in the rain?

Yes. GATO gloves are designed especially for artificial grass, and they work on natural grass too. The latex grips in both wet and dry conditions.

Artificial grass is more abrasive and will usually wear goalkeeper glove latex faster than natural grass.

How long will the gloves last?

There is no fixed lifespan. Durability depends on how often you play, the playing surface and how you care for your gloves.

Match gloves prioritize maximum match day grip, while Training gloves are designed for greater durability during regular training.

How should I wash and care for my gloves?

Wash goalkeeper gloves gently by hand with lukewarm water and let them air dry naturally.
